Just a few days after firing at Kapil Sharma's Kap's Café in Surrey, Canada, Sikh For Justice (SFJ) chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened the comedian. Pannun, who is a designated terrorist in India, issued a video threat targeting comedian Kapil Sharma and his café located in Surrey, Canada. Pannun not only questioned the recent firing incident outside the café but went further to label Kapil Sharma a 'Hindutva investor', demanding that he leave Canada.
Pannun in his video said, "We give a clear message to Kapil Sharma and the rest of the Modi-supporting investors, this country (Canada) is not your playground. Take your money and go back to India. The ideology of Hindutva will not be allowed to spread in Canada under the guise of business."
Pannun further said that the firing at Kap's Café was a political protest. It is a warning against the growing influence of Hindutva in Canada. "Why is Kapil Sharma, who says 'Mera Bharat Mahaan', not investing in Modi's India? Is Kap's Café just a comedy cafe or a part of a strategy to expand Hindutva globally?" Pannun added.

Firing at Kap's Café
As per Canadian local time, the firing took place at around 1 AM on Thursday, when an unidentified assailant opened fire while passing the café in a car. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Following the incident, Kap's Café released an official statement via Instagram, stating: “We didn’t start Kap's Café just as a business, but as a safe place where people could unwind over coffee and conversations. It is heartbreaking to see such violence targeting our dream. We are shaken but remain resilient.”
Following the firing, forensic and police teams arrived at the scene. After the firing, Khalistani terrorist Harjit Singh Laddi took responsibility for the shooting.
Harjit Singh alias Laddi's unverified social media post claimed that the firing took place in protest against the comedian's purported comments on Nihang Singhs.
Laddi, along with another individual named Toofan Singh, shared a social media post in which they warned Kapil Sharma to issue a public apology, saying failure to do so could escalate the situation further.
The duo also alleged that they tried multiple times to contact Kapil Sharma’s manager, but received no response. They claimed the firing was intended to “grab the comedian’s attention” after being ignored.
While it remains unclear what exact remarks Kapil Sharma allegedly made about Nihang Singhs, some reports speculate the controversy might be tied to an old Netflix episode or a live show.
