Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit today reviewed the ongoing work of the first phase of the Heritage Street at Somania Gate and Gur Mandi and asked rye contractor to expedite the pace of work of the first phase so that the work at Somania Gate would be completed by 16th of February and at Gur Mandi by February 28. Accompanied by Corporation Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur and Patiala Development Authority Chief Administrator Surbhi Malik, the Deputy Commissioner said that the excavation work was being carried out keeping in view to minimize the inconvenience to the people.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the work of the Heritage Street has been divided into stretches by the administration keeping in mind the problem of the people residing and working here and emphasis is being laid on completing the work of the first part. After this the ongoing work at Gur Mandi would be completed.
He asked the Corporation Commissioner Punamdeep Kaur and PDA Surbhi Malik, Chief Administrator, to monitor the progress of the work through daily coordination.
He further said that the excavation work was being carried out to complete the laying of underground sewerage pipes, drinking water pipes, rain water and ducts for power cables from the very beginning so that no further damage could be done on the steer after completion.
