Deputy Commissioner Mr. KumarAmit today reviewed the ongoing work of the first phase of the Heritage Streetat Somania Gate and Gur Mandi and asked rye contractor to expedite the pace ofwork of the first phase so that the work at Somania Gate would be completed by16th of February and at Gur Mandi by February 28. Accompanied by Corporation CommissionerPoonamdeep Kaur and Patiala Development Authority Chief Administrator SurbhiMalik, the Deputy Commissioner said that the excavation work was being carriedout keeping in view to minimize the inconvenience to the people.
The Deputy Commissioner said thatthe work of the Heritage Street has been divided into stretches by theadministration keeping in mind the problem of the people residing and workinghere and emphasis is being laid on completing the work of the first part. After this the ongoing work at Gur Mandiwould be completed.
He asked the CorporationCommissioner Punamdeep Kaur and PDA Surbhi Malik, Chief Administrator, to monitor the progress of the workthrough daily coordination.
He further said that theexcavation work was being carried out to complete the laying of undergroundsewerage pipes, drinking water pipes, rain water and ducts for power cablesfrom the very beginning so that no further damage could be done on the steerafter completion.
