Dead cockroach found in Vande Bharat Express' 'non-veg thali'; IRCTC apologises to 'traumatized' passenger

The passenger after getting down at the Jabalpur railway station filed an official complaint with the West Central Railway.

In a bizarre development, a man traveling to Jabalpur from Rani Kamlapat in the premium Vande Bharat Express train was left disgusted and traumatized after he found a dead cockroach inside his meal. As per reports, the passenger after getting down at the Jabalpur railway station filed an official complaint with the West Central Railway. Two days later, the man shared the incident on X narrating the ordeal he faced during his travel on Vande Bharat Express. As a result, IRCTC issued an apology and also shared what are the actions that the Railways took. 

 

The person named Subhendra Keshari took to his official X handle and shared a series of photos including a photo of his official complaint. Not only this, Shubhendra also shared a series of photos in which dead cockroach was seen in Vande Bharat Express' non-veg thali. "I was travelling on 1/02/2024 train no. 20173 RKMP to JBP (Vande Bharat Exp) I was traumatized by seeing dead COCKROACH in the food packet given by them," wrote Subhendra. 

 

Reacting to it, IRCTC wrote, "Sir, our sincere apology for the experience you had.The matter is viewed seriously, and the hefty  penalty has been imposed on the concerned service provider. Moreover, monitoring has been strengthened at the source."

 

Indian Railways' Rail Sewa also responded to it and wrote, "Your complaint has been registered on RailMadad and complaint no. has been sent through SMS on your mobile no. You may track your complaint via this link https://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in/madad/final/home.jsp - IRCTC Official"
