Deepika Padukone has made headlines again, this time for rumors that she could be replaced in the upcoming movie 'Kalki 2.'
The actress, who had been replaced in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Spirit' by Tripti Dimri, apparently asked for ₹25 crore for an eight-hour day for a working period of 35 days along with a 10% profit share—terms that didn't meet with the approval of the makers.
Telugu 360 sources had reported that Deepika had made the same demands for 'Kalki 2,' creating tensions with producers Ashwini Dutt and Swapna Dutt.
While negotiations are on, insiders suggest that she can be replaced if she sticks to her demands. But Bollywood Hungama stated that as the shooting hasn't begun yet, such tension may be premature.
At the same time, Deepika will be featured in Allu Arjun and Atlee Kumar's high-budget venture, titled AA22 on a working basis. It is said she has demanded a huge payment again, citing her previous demands from 'Spirit,' although no official word has been released.
In 'Spirit,' Deepika is said to have demanded not just the low fee but also that she would not do dialogues in Telugu. Adding fuel to fire, the leak of the story of the film further put her at odds with the team, leading her to be eventually replaced.
Whether Deepika remains on 'Kalki 2' or not is yet to be known — but this much is certain: her negotiations are getting the industry talking.
