It seems like women's safety is going on a toss in India as back-to-back cases have been hitting the headlines which is indeed shameful to humanity. While the nation is still not able to move on from the Manipur women paraded video case, a Delhi University Student was murdered on Friday in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern statement addressing the CMs of all states to bolster women's safety, the National Capital was jolted by a brutal murder case. As per reports, a Kamala Nehru College student named Nargis was attacked by an iron rod in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar on Friday and died on the spot. Narhis, 25-year-old, was attacked in a park in Malviya Nagar on her head. Notably, Nargis' picture lying unconscious in the park in a pool of blood has also surfaced on social media. The picture has filled netizens with rage and the Malviya Nagar murder case has indeed raised questions about women's safety.

Talking about the case, the initial investigation suggests that Nargis was killed by her own cousin after she refused to marry him. The incident happened at the Malviya Nagar park near Delhi's Aurobindo College. Delhi Police have arrested her 28-year-old cousin Irfan in connection with the murder. Reports further suggest Nargis' family had refused to get them married because Irfan was not earning well. Irfan was working as a delivery boy for the food delivery app. As a result, the accused was upset after Nargis stopped talking to him. Irfan was aware that Nargis used to attend coaching classes in Malviya Nagar and would regularly pass through the park where she was murdered.

On Friday around 12 pm, Irfan reached the park and told Nargis that he wanted to talk to her. However, when Nargis refused to do so, he smashed her head with an iron road. A report says that Irfan told the Police that he had planned to murder Nargis three days back.
