Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday in a scathing attack on the ruling BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the controversial Excise Policy as the best policy. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Manish Sisodia also took a dig at the BJP by comparing two stories from the New York Times i.e. while one story covered Delhi's education model on its front page, another story highlighted 'shameful' condition when lakhs of dead bodies were cremeated alongside the bank of Ganga in UP governed by the BJP government. On the CBI raids, Sisodia backed its excise policy and made a massive announcement that it will be 'Arvind Kejriwal vs Narendra Modi in 2024 Lok Sabha Elections'.

Here's what Manish Sisodia said:

"America's biggest newspaper The New York Times covered Delhi's education model on its front page yesterday. It's a pride for India. Around 1.5 yers ago, another story was published by them showing thousands of bodies being cremated along Ganga; it was shameful," said Sisodia.

Manish Sisodia further said, "CBI officers came to my residence yesterday. They also raided Education Ministry's Deputy CM office. All officers, in both places, were great people. They behaved very nicely. They had to obey orders from high command, but I had like to thank them to have behaved so nicely."

Talking the Excise duty policy, Sisodia said, "Excise policy due to which whole controversy is created is the country's best policy. We were applying it with transparency and sincerity. Had Delhi LG not changed his decision conspiring to fail the policy, Delhi government would have been getting at least Rs 10,000cr every year."

On being asked why Sisodia is under the CBI scanner of Excise duty policy, he said, "Their issue is not liquor/excise scam. Their problem is Arvind Kejriwal. Whole proceedings against me, raids at my residence and office, are to stop Arvind Kejriwal. I haven't done any corruption. I'm just Arvind Kejriwal's Education Minister."

It is pertinent to mention here that CBI's action took place after it registered an FIR over the alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy of 2021-2022. The CBI probe was recommended by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

Sisodia ended his press conference making two massive announcement that he might get arrested in ,the two three days and in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections it will be Arvind Kejriwal vs Narendra Modi. Pitting Delhi CM against the Prime Minister, he said "Days after Kejriwal launched 'Make India No. 1 Mission, raids were conducted at my house. PM Modi wanted to stop the development works and the efforts to take the nation forward. I am sure, in the upcoming elections, it will be Modi versus Kejriwal."

"Maybe within the next 3-4 days, CBI-ED will arrest me . We won't be scared, you won't be able to break us.The elections of 2024 will be AAP vs BJP, Arvind Kejriwal vs Narendra Modi.'
