On Thursday, many areas of Delhi flooded with water after Yamune crept in inside the city due to rise in water level. Delhi CM Arvin Kejriwal on Wednesday had flagged a warning suggesting that the National Capital will witness a flood and if no swift action is taken, people might be displaced or in the worst case scenario lose their life and livelihood. As a result, people were moved to safer areas when water invaded the Monastery market at Kashmere Gate and Ring Road. The authorities placed sandbags to stop the water from flowing farther after the swelling Yamuna River entered Ring Road. While there are multiple areas which is witnessing Delhi Flood due to the rise in Yamuna's water level, the area of Kahmere Gate and Red Fort is among the worst affected. Now, a video is going viral on social media showing a rickshaw puller peddling through chest-deep water near the Red Fort area.

In the viral video, it can be seen a rickshaw puller peddling through chest-deep water near the Red Fort area. The rickshaw puller can also be seen smiling and trying to get out of the water-logged area as soon as possible. For the unversed, the Red Fort is situated in Netaji Subhash Marg, Chandni Chowk. It is near from the Kashmere Gate. Before this, another video, Kashmere Gate ISBT lane was seen totally inundated with water forcing shops and everything to remain closed. In the video, the man can be heard saying, "Can you all guess where I am standing? This is ISBT Kashmere Gate Bus Stop, this is Ring Road, and you all can see what is the situation here. One side of the road is totally submerged in the water, and in the other vehicles are operating."

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah informing that the reason behind the water level rising in Yamuna is because a high volume of water is being released from Haryana's Hathnikund barrage. As per reports, the Hathnikund Barrage's peak inflow on Tuesday morning was 3.59 lakh cusecs and lasted for two hours. At 3 pm on Wednesday, the inflow had gradually diminished to 1.30 lakh cusecs. Now that the river has started overflowing, problems for the city's inhabitants are imminent. As a result, people moved to safer areas when water invaded the Monastery market at Kashmere Gate and Ring Road. The authorities placed sandbags to stop the water from flowing farther after the swelling Yamuna river entered Ring Road.
