The Delhi High Court has directed the AIIMS director to constitute a medical board on Thursday itself to look into the medical condition of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram who is under arrest in the INX Media case and suffers from Crohn's disease.

While hearing interim bail plea of the former finance minister on medical grounds, the HC said the medical board will give an opinion on the health condition of Chidambaram by 7 pm on Thursday.

The decision to set up a medical board at AIIMS came after Chidambaram sought interim relief for six days to enable him to consult and get examined by his doctor at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), Hyderabad.
