Delhi police finds pistol and cartridges at Tahir Hussain's home, sends it to forensic

According to sources in the Crime Branch SIT, a licensed pistol owned by a suspended AAP leader and councillor Tahir Hussain, booked for murder after the Delhi riots has been confiscated and sent to forensic lab for the examination to determine if it was fired or not.

However, it is being said by the sources that during the violence, the gun was at the home of the suspect, Tahir Hussain. and later with someone he knew.

As per the information acquired from the sources, 24 live cartridges have also been sent to forensics for examination.

AAP leader Tahir Hussain has been booked for the murder of an Intelligence Bureau staffer, Ankit Sharma, during the riots, whose body was later recovered from a drain. IB staffer's family has accused Hussain of killing Ankit Sharma.

But Hussain says he himself is a victim of violence and all allegations against him are baseless. 

On Thursday, Tahir Hussain was arrested after a Delhi court dismissed his request to surrender, and sent to police custody for seven days.
