Delhi police on target of IS amid corona pandemic, alert issued

To maintain the situation of law and oder in the capital during lockdown imposed to curb the spread of novel coronavirus pandemic, Delhi police personnel stationed at barricades have now become the target of Islamic States.

IS-the terrorist organisation is conspiring to launch a lone-wolf attack on the Delhi security officers amid the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Apparently, an advisory has been issued by the authorities to the Delhi Cops and asked to stay vigilant all the time for a possible attack by the Islamic State. The attack could be in the form of a stabbing, firing, or running over the police picket using a big vehicle.

"As per assessment made at MAC platform by going through literature and magazines published by ISIS [Islamic State], it has been suspected that police personnel deployed upon duty at various pickets/barricades in Delhi in connection with maintaining of law and order in Delhi regarding outbreak of the novel coronavirus may be targeted by suspected ISIS [IS] operatives. Said attacks may be in form of Lone Woolf attack, stabbing, firing or hitting by vehicles etc. Field staff may please be briefed accordingly," the advisory said.
