Delhi police release more photos from the Red Fort rampage

The photos released today are in addition to the 20 photos that were released by the police earlier.

The Delhi Police today has released more new photos of rioters in connection to the violence that unleashed the Red Fort on Republic Day when thousands of protesting farmers forced into the historic monument breaching barricades and hoisted the Nishan Sahab flag on the domes of the fort. 

These photographs are in addition to the 20 photos that were released earlier by the Delhi police. The rioters are seen armed with rods and other weapons like swords. 

The search operations are underway to identify more rioters, said the police. 

The photos are being identified through facial analytics technology.

The Red Fort violence case has been transferred to the crime branch and a Special Investigation Team under Joint Commissioner BK Singh and three DCPs Joy Turkey, Bhesham Singh and Monika Bhardwaj have been established to investigate the January 26 violence.

Unprecedented chaos was unleashed upon Delhi on Republic Day as the tractor march by the protesting farmers went off the designated course and swirled into the historic Red Fort. The protesters entered the Red Fort, clashing the police personnel and climbed the ramparts of the fort, making a national shame. A protester died on the way after his speeding tractor overturned and over 400 security forces were injured in the incident.
