Is dust haze in Delhi here to stay ?

New Delhi. The national capital remained enveloped with haze for the third consecutive day.This made the air quality ‘severe’ and accompanied with mild rain and thus mounting worries regarding pollution in Delhi,informed the authorities.An overall air quality index of 431 was recorded by Central Pollution Control Board. ‘Severe air quality’ was recorded in twenty nine states of Delhi and in eight areas ithe quality of the air was ‘very poor’,said the CPCB.

“There is a fall in temperature and good amountof moisture is present in the air.Moist air is passing over Delhi cool surface leading to fog formation and calm winds are not allowing the pollutants to disperse”,said the SAFAR.

As per the IMD,the quality of the air is going to remain in the ‘severe’ category for a while.Relative humidity was recorded at 98% on Wednesday in Delhi,the weather office said.
