Passengers en route to Barcelona in Delta Airlines had to endure a bizarre incident and had to keep their noses shut after a passenger with diarrhea openly defected on the aisle of a flight mid-air. As per reports, the situation and 'smell' turned so bad that Delta Airlines had to make an emergency landing after a passenger began experiencing diarrhea aboard, so explosive that it "ran all the way through the plane." A report suggested that the horrible incident forced the pilot to turn the plane around on Friday and make an emergency landing as horrified passengers held their noses. To be precise, the incident took place in flight number DL194 which had already departed Georgia.
As per reports, when the flight reached Virginia the pilots decided that the flight could not complete the rest of its journey due to the "biohazard" aboard. Notably, the Captain spoke to the ATC requesting an emergency landing and said, "This is a biohazard issue...We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta." It is pertinent to mention here that flight attendants on board attempted to scrub the mess before the plane landed.
As per passengers onboard the disinfectant spray didn't quite do the trick. One of the woman who was reportedly onboard when the incident happened wrote, "It was pretty bad. It was dribbled down the aisle, smelled horrible. The vanilla-scented disinfectant used on it only made it smell like vanilla s***."
It is pertinent to mention here that Delta Airlines also issued a statement and confirmed they suffered a medical emergency situation onboard. In its statement, the airlines' spokesperson was quoted saying, "Delta flight 194 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue. Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologise to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."
It is pertinent to mention here that passengers whose flight was ruined were transferred from the Airbus A350 aircraft to another jet and made it to Spain eight hours later than scheduled.
