Amid tensions in J & K, Dengue epidemic grips 15 BRO jawans in Samba

Jammu: At least 15 jawans of Border Road Organisation (BRO) were tested positive of Dengue in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here on Monday.

The sources said that last week, one jawan was hospitalized after he was tested positive of the epidemic, adding, "more jawan were later admitted on being tested positive and presently, 15 BRO men are undergoing the treatment."

"16 jawans visited the hospital out of which 14 were tested Dengue positive and two were having a viral fever," said a senior doctor.

"One jawan is also being treated at Army hospital," they said adding that conditions of all of them are stable and they will be discharged in the next couple of days.

Earlier in Kathua district, five cases of Dengue were tested positive. The government, however, has geared up and is taking all measures to control the epidemic.
