In a heartbreaking development, a man in Fazilka, Punjab took his father to the hospital on a 'Thela' after he did not get ambulance services from the district Civil Hospital. As per reports, a person named Prem Kumar fell in his house in the Jheevra locality 2 days ago. He was brought to the government hospital for treatment due to a hip fracture. After treatment, the doctors discharged him.

To go home, the patient's son Pawan Kumar requested a government ambulance. However, Pawan Kumar said that he was asked to call a private ambulance from outside and take the patient home. Pawan reportedly told them that he was a poor man who sold vegetables. Therefore, he could not take his father in a private ambulance. After which he had to bring his own Thela (Rehdi) to the hospital and took his father on it.

Notably, Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal reportedly said that she would talk to the SMO of the government hospital and the matter would be investigated.
