In a horrific & bizarre incident, a violent clash between two groups took place during a Kabaddi Tournament at Derby Kabaddi Grounds on Elvaston Lane, Alvaston, at around 4 PM on Sunday, August 21. As per Eyewitnesses quoted by British media, the Derby Kabaddi Ground violence took place due to clashes between two groups, and at least three people were injured when hundreds of spectators were trying to flee from the spot in order to save their life. The Alvaston Kabaddi fight involved guns and swords.
The situation was not manageable as the mob went out of control. Reportedly, one person described catching the sight of a man being shot before being repeatedly attacked with a sword. A police spokesperson was quoted saying, "We were called to a large-scale disturbance in Elvaston Lane, Alvaston, at 3.51 p.m. on Sunday. Three people have been injured, one seriously. They have all been taken to the hospital." Currently, the entire ground is under the supervision of the local police officers, who are expected to conduct a deeper investigation into the motive behind this deadly attack.
It is pertinent to mention here that the cops have not found out the reason of the clash, however, the British media including The Sun UK has hinted that this might be the result of the clash among gangs including the Punjabi community. "Police at the Kabaddi tournament which is popular amongst the Punjab community," says the Brit media.
Now, Derby Kabaddi Ground fight is also doing rounds on social media. A user shared the viral Derby Kabaddi fight video with the caption saying, "Fight erupted between Spectators in Kabaddi tournament at Derby, England."
