Desecration of Sri Gutka Sahib in Jalandhar, drunk man throws holy book’s pages on road

Currently the accused is under police custody and a case has been registered against him

In the latest development, a man was caught desecrating Sri Gutka Sahib in Jalandhar. The incident took place near Professor Colony of the city. After getting the information, police registered a case against the accused and an investigation is underway.

Reportedly, a person named Bablu was caught tearing up pages of the holy book and throwing them on the road in Professor Colony. While was doing this, a man named Joga Singh stopped him from doing the same and called the people nearby for help. Post this, the accused tried to run away but was caught by the crowd and handed over to the police. Joga Singh alleged that the accused was drunk.

Talking about the incident, eye-witness Joga Singh stated that he was going for a walk when he saw the accused tearing up pages of Sri Gutka Sahib and throwing them on the street. He further added, “when I stopped him from doing the same, he tried to run away. After this, I called the police and handed him over to them.”

ACP Nirmal Singh, police official looking into the matter stated that post getting the information, police team reached the spot and arrested the accused. He further added that a probe regarding the matter is underway.
