Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said he will submit a letter to Governor BS Koshiyari asking him to suspend proceedings of the Legislative Assembly as the session is "unconstitutional" and "illegal".

"We are going to submit a letter to the Governor asking him to suspend the proceedings of the House, and that the House should follow the Constitution," said Devendra Fadnavis after the Opposition staged a walkout of Assembly ahead of the floor test.

"This session is unconstitutional and illegal. Appointment of pro-tem Speaker was also unconstitutional," he said. Earlier, as soon as the session begun, an uproar ensued in the House with Fadnavis raising questions over different aspects of the day's session.

Pro-tem Speaker Dilip Walse urged the members to maintain order in the House and allowed former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to speak.

The proceedings for the floor test started with Congress leader Ashok Chavan moving the motion for the trust vote. NCP leader Nawab Malik and Shiv Sena's Sunil Prabhu seconded the proposal.
