
PawanDewan, Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, has attacked theNarendra Modi government at the Center over the ever-increasing prices ofpetrol-diesel and LPG.
Hequestioned the central government whether it is compensating the loss of theclosed toll plaza due to the farmers' movement.
Ina statement issued here, Dewan said that the rising prices of petrol-diesel andcooking gas have made it difficult for the poor and middle class families ofthe country to run their homes.
Hesaid that in just 6 months, the rate of cooking gas has increased by about Rs175 and the rate of cylinder has reached about Rs 800. Similarly, in the last 8months, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by about Rs 20 each, dueto which petrol has reached about Rs 91 and diesel about Rs 82 per liter.
Hequestioned whether the Narendra Modi government of the Center was trying tomeet the losses caused by the closure of toll plazas due to the farmers'movement by increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas.
Hesaid that the people of the country are remembering the UPA government led byDr. Manmohan Singh today, when the country was progressing and the rate ofcommodities was within the reach of common man. Prime Minister NarendraModi has today put the people of thecountry in great trouble.
