
Starting from Friday,landlords and owners would no more be required to visit Saanjh Kendras forverification of their servants and tenants as the Ludhiana CommissioneratePolice has developed a Mobile Application for entire Punjab, which will allowthe owners to register for the verification and pay fees using mobile phones,said Director General of Police Punjab Dinkar Gupta here.
The DGP, who was inLudhiana on Friday to inaugurate a series of police development projects, alsolaunched a Mobile platform for quick and timely verification of servants,tenants and employees by owners as part of aggressive steps to control crime inthe state.
With this dedicated application,people won’t need to visit Sanjh Kendera or police station for this purpose andthey can do it at the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones, the DGPsaid urging people to get the police verification of the domestic helps done toensure that some deterrence is there for the servants. He said in case theservant commits some crime and absconds, the details submitted duringverification can help the police to trace the accused.
Giving furtherdetails, Commissioner of Police Ludhiana Rakesh Agrawal said the app has beenspecially developed keeping in view the recent theft cases by the servants. Theapp also has an additional and special feature for the verification of servantsfrom Nepal, he added.
The CP said that thisApp would require owners to submit details of both employer and the servantincluding Applicant details along with Photo and ID proofs, Domestic helpdetails along with Photo, ID proof, residence proof and other details whetherhe resides on or off premises besides information about Family members ofdomestic help and information of at least two referrals of the domestic help.
He said that afterfilling details, the applicant will get an OTP for authentication and then thelatter will be redirected to the payment page. He disclosed that a very nominalfee of Rs 200 will be charged from the public for this service of policeverification of the servants. Similarly, employers can also use thisapplication for the verification of their employees, he added. The App can be downloadedfrom Google Play Store by searching PPSAANJH.
On the occasion, DGPDinkar Gupta also held a crime review meeting with the police officials ofLudhiana Commissionerate. Ludhiana police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal apprisedhim about the crime pattern in the city area. He told him about variousmeasures undertaken by police to control crime.
Citing that ahead ofthe State Assembly Elections, the next six months are very challenging for thepolice, the DGP asked all the officers to be vigilant in wake of plans ofinimical forces to disturb peace and communal harmony in the border state ofPunjab.
He directed them todeploy round-the-clock Police Nakas and intensify checking of persons andvehicles. The DGP also asked the officers to go to the field and do humanintelligence by developing sources, mapping police stations and keeping a tabon history sheeters, criminals out of Jail and other suspected persons.
Meanwhile, to disposeoff the vehicles lying in Police Station compounds for years, DGP Dinkar Guptaalso launched the Rule Book, which will guide in disposing off of the caseproperty for disposal of such vehicles by following the respective CrPC andPunjab Police Act. The rule book has been compiled by PPS officer Gurdev Singh,the DGP said.
