Dhaakad Movie Review: 'Heavy lifting' on Kangana's shoulders but Agent Agni rescues her 'fearlessly'

But, Kangana's case is a bit different. She aspires to be Uma Thurman in the film 'Dhaakad'. The hard work that Kangana put into this film, which looks like Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' series, is visible.

Dhaakad Movie Review: Kangana Ranaut is one of the best actresses in Hindi cinema. Her vitality to experiment with her characters is a testament to her performance. She is also praised for the fact that she has been able to maintain her existence in a film industry where it is very difficult for those coming from outside in the first place to get work, if they get second work, then measure the seventh sky of Fame.

Kangana has done both these things. Kangana Ranaut, who has won four National Awards for acting so far, has the guts to make her name among the classics of Hindi cinema, but her skill of choosing stories and the ability to present these stories with her sensibilities on screen. The harmony between the directors is getting disturbed. Kangana's new film 'Dhaakad' is a victim of this imbalance.

Kangana trying to be an action star

Ever since the trailer of the film 'Dhaakad', there have been a lot of expectations from the audience from this film. Even before her, many actresses have tried to become action stars. From Fearless Nadia to Deepika Padukone, many actresses have tried or are doing this.

But, Kangana's case is a bit different. She aspires to be Uma Thurman in the film 'Dhaakad'. The hard work that Kangana put into this film, which looks like Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' series, is visible. She has become a secret agent who wants to break a world wide web, whose facilitator is in India. The story starts from abroad and comes back to her country.

The target is a coal mafia who has been involved in all other crimes for a long time. She also has a partner. The story is just right for such an action film at its thought level. But, its script? The film 'Dhaakad' beats here.

In the film 'Dhaakad' director Rajneesh Ghai, who has enthralled the audience with a glimpse of a terrific trailer for a bad film made on a good idea, is the biggest culprit of the film. The narration of the story that he would have given to Kangana Ranaut and due to which Kangana would have agreed to do this film, he missed to show it on-screen.

He makes Kangana an action queen but doesn't allow human emotion to emerge properly in the story. There is a huge lack of pause in the film and its characters, despite being off the leak, are seen running on the worn-out leaks of masala films. Money seems to have been shed like water in the making of the film, but it could not have the effect it should have.

Kangana's charisma prevails

Kangana has once again shown her mettle in terms of acting. In different forms, she looks less and less fearful. There is a dialogue in the film, 'Your problem is that you have started thinking of yourself as the Messiah.' In this one dialogue, the report card of all the hard work of Kangana is hidden. Kangana needs to avoid becoming a one-man army. Cinema is a matter of teamwork. Here she can do charisma only by getting the support of directors capable of her and she is also capable of doing so. Only overconfidence is blocking her films.

The actors stuck in the framework

Do nothing more than filling the gaps in the story. Arjun Rampal is effective only in the past part. Divya Dutta's hard work also seems to be in vain. Sharib Hashmi is losing control of himself. After earning fame, it is his day to earn money and seeing his work, it seems that now he just wants to do more and more work. Shashwat Chatterjee has his scope of acting and people are also trying to take advantage of his 'Bob Biswas' identity in Hindi cinema.

See Do Not Watch

The film 'Dhaakad' has failed to live up to the expectations tied to its trailer. If you are a die-hard fan of Kangana Ranaut, then only go to the cinema and watch this movie. For the rest of the general audience to see this film, it would be better to wait for it to come on OTT.
