The festival is also known as Dhantrayadashi, Dhanteras is celebrated in the month of Kartik on the thirteenth day of Kartika Krishna Paksha. 


This year, the festival would be celebrated on November 2, 2021.

It is auspicious to buy coriander, brooms, silver and gold jewellery and a statue of Lakshmi Ganesha on this day. But mainly, people purchase brass products as it is metal of Lord Dhanwantari. Utensils are purchased as it is believed that it helps in maintaining health, happiness and prosperity in the house.
