The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued Facebook, YouTube and X (formerly known as Twitter) with a contempt notice due to failing to remove an objectionable post to Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. It has been alleged that despite a clear order from the court, the objectionable comments made by former MLA RD Prajapati and others against Dhirendra Shastri have not been removed from Social Media.

Petitioner’s advocate Pankaj Dubey said that the bench consisting of Justice Rajmohan Singh issued notice of contempt of court while hearing the case on Wednesday. The notice was issued to Facebook, YouTube, and X (formerly known as Twitter) and the court is awaiting a reply from them.

The petition was filed in High Court on behalf of Ranjit Singh Patel, a disciple of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. It was alleged that misleading videos are being propogated by the media against Shastri without repercussions. It was argued that Dhirendra Shastri is the Peethadishwar of  Bageshwar Dham, Chhatarpur and that he is a revered saint of the Sanatan Dharma. The petitioner alleges that being unhappy with his eccentricity, former MLA Prajapati published and spread objectionable posts and news about him in media. Regarding this, the High Court had issued an order to remove the objectionable posts on December 4. But since no action was taken, the petition for contempt has been filed.
