Arguably the best white-ball cricketer India ever produced, Yuvraj Singh in his rare interview opened up on his estranged relationship with Team India's former skipper MS Dhoni. The relationship between Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni went sour when the allrounder was left out of Team India's plan for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Despite Yuvraj Singh's heroic comeback from cancer, the cricketer was not considered for the Team India squad for the Cricket World Cup 2019. Notably, it was Yuvraj Singh who was the player of the tournament both during the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Appearing on the podcast of YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Yuvraj Singh finally opened up about his relationship with MS Dhoni. "Let me be politically correct about it. If you will ask Mahi he will be politically correct about it. Me and Mahi (MS Dhoni) are not close friends. We were friends because of cricket. My lifestyle was very different from him. So, we were never close friends. When me and Mahi went to the ground, we gave more than 100 percent for our country together.

"He was captain, I was vice-captain. When he came in the team, he was four years junior. Between captain and vice-captain there will be decision differences. Sometimes, he makes decisions I did't like, sometimes I take decisions he didn't like. It happens in every team and that's why any team improves. During the end phase of my career, when I was not getting the right picture of my career, I actually spoke to him. I asked him for his advice. He was the guy who told me, the selection committee, they are not looking at you right now. I felt good that someone gave me the right picture of my career. This was just before the 2019 World Cup. So, that is the reality of it."
