Diamond-Ring Marigold Guinness-World-Record

A floral-shaped donning around 12,638 tiny diamond stones has secured a place in the Guinness World Records. It looks extravagant, but its creator, a 25-year-old man from Meerut has no intentions to sell his priceless design just yet.

This elegant ring is called "The Marigold - The Ring of Prosperity", the chunky circular band weighs a little over 165 grams (5.8 ounces).

Harshit Bansal, the creator of the ring said, "It's wearable and comfortable," has described his adventurous creation as a dream project.

Mr Bansal added that he perceived this idea two years ago while studying jewellery design in Gujarat's Surat, which is known as India's diamond hub.

"My target was always more than 10,000 diamonds. I trashed many designs and concepts over the years to finally zero in on this," Mr Bansal said.

His company in a statement said that each tiny petal in the ring's eight-layer flower design was unique.

Each petal is identical to each other and it gives the ring a blend of organic symmetry, alignment and design, added Harshat expressing that he is emotionally attached to the ring.

Mr Bansal said he had already declined requests from prospective buyers, adding, "We have no plans of selling it right now. It's a matter of pride for us. It's priceless."

The previous record determined by Guinness, also set in India, was for a ring containing 7,801 diamonds, by a Hyderabad based jeweller, Kotti Srikant.
