Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh joined the farmers protesting at Delhi border and requested the government to pay heed to their demands. He has also said that he has donated 1 crore to buy warm clothes for the farmers who are protesting in the harsh winter.

Diljit has been vocal about the farmer’s issue and extended his support to the farmers who have been demonstrating against the farm laws, demanding to repeal all the three farm laws. Earlier this week, Diljit got indulged into an ugly Twitter feud with Kangana Ranaut on Twitter for her disrespectful comment over the protests and farmers.

On Saturday, Diljit flew in from the US and reached the protesting spot to join the farmers. Addressing the farmers at the Singhu border, he said: “Hats off to all of you farmers, you have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone.”

He added, " We have only one request for the government- Do not divert from the issues. This agitation is about the farmers. Everyone here is protesting peacefully and the entire country is with the farmers. Facts are twisted on Twitter. The truth is nobody is talking about bloodshed here, we all are sitting/protesting peacefully.”

He praised Diljit’s for taking a stand and expressed his gratitude. Singga said praising words for Diljit in Punjabi, “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and nobody knows. You didn’t post about it. Nowadays people can’t shut up after donating Rs 10.”
