Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh has been under fire ever since the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 was released on Instagram. As soon as the Sardaar Ji 3 trailer was released, the presence of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the movie sparked massive outrage in India. Despite India-Pakistan tensions, the makers of Sardaar Ji decided to release the making abroad with Hania Aamir in the starcast. Diljit Dosanjh too supported the decision as a lot of money has already by spent on the movie and hence, the matter is out of hand. As a result, enraged fans and film bodies have demanded a complete boycott of Diljit from India and Indian movies. Film-bodies have written a letter to Sunny Deol and Bhushan Kumar to remove Diljit Dosanjh from the Border 2 movie in which he is portraying the character of an Indian Army officer.
With demands to remove Diljit from Border 2 on the rise, TOI on Friday quoted a source who informed that the producers of Border 2 are considering casting Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk in place of Diljit Dosanjh. "Diljit only shot for 3-4 scenes. Makers were contemplating replacing the actor, as right now they can easily reshoot those scenes. The makers are directly handling this matter, and Ammy's name cropped up in the discussion," reported the news portal.
However, HT media quoted a source from Ammy Virk's team who denied the reports of him being in discussion as a replacement for Diljit Dosanjh for Border 2. A source in Ammy's team was quoted saying, "These are just speculations. We haven't got any call from anyone as of now.”
The news portal then quoted a highly-placed source close to the production who informed, “There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible."
Therefore, True Scoop cannot confirm whether Diljit Dosanjh will be replaced from Border 2 or not, as two contrasting reports have come in. You are advised to wait for the official announcement from the makers of Border 2.
