Punjabi Singer Diljit Dosanjh might find himself in trouble as the Income Tax department has launched an inquiry over the funds allegedly routed by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh from the UK/Canada for funding the ongoing farmers’ protest in India.

Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) filed a complaint on December 27, based on the research shared by one Vijay Patel who had alleged that a company named Speed Records has been prudently involving in money laundering and routing activities and funding anti-farmer law agitations and its links with pro-Khalistani organization Khalsa Aid.

The complaint also alleges that Diljit Dosanjh received an honorarium for music events conducted through his Saanjh Foundation, which does not have an FCRA Registration to operate in India.

The complaint also outlines the connection of Sukhbir Singh Badal with the Saanjh Foundation.

Although the IT department has started its investigation, Diljit has totally rubbished such claims of the LRO. Diljit took to Twitter and slammed the media for reporting it without cross-checking the allegations of Sukhbir Singh Badal's connection with the Saanjh Foundation.

Diljit wrote, "Ah Tan Research ah Ena Di.. Hun Banda Hassey Na Tan Ki Karey News Wale v Chak Ke News La dende aa .. Koi ser pair tan pata kar leya karo..Wade Researcher Baney Firde aa (Is this what they call their research, i feel like laughing out loud. Media people too publish any thing without cross-checking the facts. So-called researchers.)
