Sensational disclosure by Goa minister confirms scam in Rafale, says Congress

New Delhi: Continuing its attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government regarding the Rafale deal, the Congress, on Wednesday, alleged that sensational disclosures by a Goa minister has unravelled corruption in the deal. The party said that the shocking disclosures made by Goa health minister Vishwajeet Rane in a meeting of the state cabinet last week, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said nobody can remove him as chief minister as he is in possession of the files on Rafale deal, confirmed all the allegations made by the Congress of corruption in the deal.

It demanded a clarfication from the Prime minister on the issue and reiterated its demand for a Joint Parliamentary committee probe into the Rafale deal.

Talking to reporters here, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala, releasing an audio clip of Rane's conversation with a person giving details of the meeting of the state cabinet last week, said, “The shocking and sensational disclosures made by a minister in the BJP government in Goa has unravelled new layers of corruption in the Rafale deal. The meeting of the Goa cabinet last week was stormy.. The conversation by the Goa minister makes it clear that amid the heated discussion at the meeting Mr Parrikar reportedly said that nobody can remove him as chief minister as he has all files on Rafele in his possession. The statement by Mr Parrikar, a former defence minister in the union cabinet confirms all' the allegations made by the Congress of corruption in the deal and also its charges of direct involvement of the Prime Minister.''
