He died by suicide by jumping in front of the train.

In an absolute shocker, former President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum allegedly died by suicide on Friday morning. He died by suicide by jumping in front of the train. Police during the investigation recovered a suicide note in which a retired senior police officer has been blamed.

Reportedly, on 10th February 2023 Disputes Redressal Forum Former Chief Gurpal Singh ended his life by jumping in front of a train in Sangrur. The deceased jumped before the Nanded to Sri Ganganagar train on the outskirts of Sangrur. On getting the information about the same, team of GRP reached the spot. GRP team recovered the body and has currently shifted it to Civil Hospital, Sangrur for post-mortem examination.

The SHO of Sangrur police station of Government Railway Police (GRP), Jagjeet Singh stated that Gurpal Singh who retired as forum President ended his life by suicide. He further said that police recovered a suicide note in which the deceased blamed a retired SSP of the Punjab Police with whom he had a dispute over some money.

Jagjeet Singh said, “Gurpal has alleged that the retired SSP was threatening him over the phone repeatedly with dire consequences. We have shifted the body to the hospital. We will register an FIR after recording the statement of the family of the deceased.”
