Once again a shocking incident has come to light from Golden Temple, Amritsar on Wednesday night. A woman has been arrested for smoking inside the Golden Temple.
The woman was seen smoking ‘beedi’ during her ‘parikrama’ in the Golden Temple. She was noticed by the vigilantes of the Shiromani Committee. “The Bihari woman has been handed over to the police by the Shiromani Committee,” said Mahinder Singh Ahli, Secretary Shiromani Committee.
The SGPC also said that a woman belongs to Bihar so maybe she was unaware of the customs related to the Sikh community. The Shiromani Committee has also appealed to the Sangat for cooperation.

One such incident took place last year in December, A youth allegedly tried to desecrate the Holy book Sri Guru Granth Sahib at the Golden Temple, Amritsar. The man jumped across the metal grill to enter the central enclosure of the sanctum sanctorum, picked up a diamond-encrusted sword to desecrate the holy book.
Before the police could take the accused youth into custody, the mob thrashed him to death.
