District Administration Observes Two-minutes of Silence in Respect of Freedom Fighters

Jalandhar, January 30 - The district administration onSaturday observed two-minutes of silence in the memory of those who sacrificedtheir lives for the sake of the country. 

A two-minute silence was observed at 11.00 am in thedistrict administrative complex. 

The civil, police officials and employees from variousdepartments paid homage to the freedom fighters and martyrs. 

The Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh along withother officials paid their rich tribute to the freedom fighters and MahatmaGandhi, father of the nation. It was on Jan 30, 1948, when Mahatma Gandhi wasassassinated. 

Addressing the gathering, ADC said that we should alwaysremember the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and exhorted the people toplay a proactive role in fulfilling their aspirations. 

He said that everyone should perform his duty sincerelywhich will be a real tribute to our freedom fighters.   

He said that countrymen enjoy the fruits of independencebecause of martyrs who were got martyrdom in the freedom struggle and also calledupon the people to salute the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and courage.

Superintendent Anil Kumar Kala, and employees of variousbranches were present.
