Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested the two men who punched & kicked a dog in Thane's Vetic Pet Clinic. The two men were employees of Vetic Pet Clinic in Thane and they filmed a video abusing an innocent dog. Not only this, the men shared their video on Snapchat which later went viral on social media. Thereafter, Vetic Pet Clinic's employee viral videos sparked a massive uproar on social media with netizens starting to demand their arrest. Not only this, Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa also shared the viral video in her Instagram story and requested the Mumbai Police to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
As a result, a non-cognisable offence was registered against two employees of Vetic Pet Clinic in Manpada. Chitalsar police station was quoted saying, "The incident occurred nearly a week ago, and the video had gone viral. Thane Municipal Corporation’s vet Dr Kshama Shirodkar noticed the video, and lodged a formal complaint with us. Based on the complaint, we booked them under Section 11 (1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. It is a non-cognisable offence."
Now, Vetic Pet Clinic employees' arrest video is going viral on social media. When the Mumbai Police were taking the employees under their custody, people present there slapped the men asking them why they did it.
Notably, Vetic Pet Clinic also issued a statement on the viral video. On their Instagram handle, Vetic Pet Clinic wrote, "This is a deeply disturbing incident involving a pet and 2 of our groomers. As pet parents and animal lovers, this is shocking and completely unacceptable to us. As a first step, we have immediately terminated both of them and launched a formal investigation into this. We are also working alongside the authorities and have initiated police action in this matter...We understand the trust you place in us when you choose Vetic for your furry baby's care, and we are committed to upholding that trust with the highest standards of compassion and professionalism." The statement came from Vetic Pet Clinic founder Gaurav Ajmera.
