Dulquer Salmaan's 'Salute' banned by Kerala theatre association after breaching contract; takes OTT route for release

A new problem has arisen in front of Dulquer Salmaan, the star of South Cinema. Dulquer Salmaan has been banned by the Cinema Halls of Kerala and the reason for this is his upcoming film 'Salute' is a home production film of Dulquer Salmaan. 

The Film Exhibitors United Organization of Kerala (FEUOK) decided to ban Dulquer Salmaan after the actor recently announced the release of his film on the OTT platform. Dulquer Salmaan is in the lead role in the film 'Salute' directed by Roshan Andrews.

Association alleges Dulquer Salmaan's film production

The film was earlier scheduled to release on January 14, but the release of the film was postponed due to COVID-19. According to a report in News18, the film association has claimed that there was a release agreement between the production house and the association.

However, the production house decided to release the film directly on the OTT platform without any discussion with the association.

This act of Dulquer Salmaan's production house has inspired FEUOK to take this drastic step of banning him. The association has also decided not to collaborate with films that will feature Dulquer Salmaan and will produce films by him. Salman Dulquer has not yet given any reaction to the decision of FEUOK.

Dulquer Salmaan recently announced the release of the film on Sony Liv in one of his Instagram posts. Actor Dulquer Salmaan wrote in his post – SonyLIV and Wayfarer Films are very happy to come together for the film Salute, directed by Roshan Andrews and written by Bobby and Sanjay.

This film is going to release on Sony Liv on March 18. Dulquer Salmaan is going to be seen in the role of a police officer in this film. In the film, his character gets a strange case, which he is working hard to solve. 

His fans have high hopes for this film of Dulquer Salmaan. Salmaan's film Kurup was very much liked by the audience. After playing the role of a gangster, Dulquer is now all set to show his mettle in the role of a cop.
