ED likely to summon Ex-Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla in corruption case

Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to former Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla yesterday in a corruption case.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to former Health Minister Dr. Vijay Singla yesterday. He was accused of demanding  ‘one-percent commission’ in tenders and purchases by the department. He was arrested on May 24 under sections 7 and 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at Phase VIII police station, Mohali.

According to sources, ED has started its investigation regarding the corruption case. It is ED’s systematic procedure that whenever any corruption case got registered, the central agency starts a parallel investigation in the case. 

ED has started the investigation against the cases registered by Vigilance Bureau Punjab. 

According to the sources, if ED summons Ex-Health Minister Vijay Singla, the team will try to find out the hidden names in the corruption case. 

If summoned, if Vijay Singla takes the name of any leader in aggression, then the Aam Aadmi Party may be in danger. ED would like to find out in its investigation how much more names are involved in corruption.

Vigilance Bureau’s investigation is for the ‘one-percent commission’ case, but ED will try to find if any other corruption angle is involved in it. 

According to the sources, ED is likely to summon many big leaders and officers who are possibly involved in wrongdoings.
