The Central University of Punjab gets a new campus, Pokhriyal inaugurated the building

The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda got a new campus building for its students on October 12. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal virtually inaugurated the newly constructed campus buildings.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank On October 12 virtually inaugurated the newly constructed buildings and the campus of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda for its students. Lok Sabha MP from Punjab Harsdimrat Kaur Badal was also present at the inauguration. The ten new buildings and the University Insignia Monument, dedicated to 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan and Jai Anusandhan', at the CUPB new campus have been constructed at the price of Rs 203.78 crore.

The foundation stone of the new CUPB campus was laid in September 2015, by the then Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani and the then Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Parkash Singh Badal. 

Gracing the event, Mr Pokhriyal said that the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the world has taught that a "Self-reliant India", Atma Nirbhar Bharat, is the only way to move forward and through 'National Education Policy' (NEP-2020) we can accomplish the mission of making India a 'Global Knowledge and Innovation Centre' of the world. With this students will be able to receive education aligned to global standards.

 

Ms Harsimrat Kaur Badal, congratulated CUPB employees, students and people of Punjab on the inauguration of CUPB. Ms Badal said Bhatinda city will now be known as the “ education hub of Punjab.”

The Education Minister Pokriyal is all set to inaugurate two new facilities at IIT Jodhpur, one Innovation and Incubation Center and second a Sports Complex in the campus. These facilities will be virtually inaugurated by Mr Pokhriyal on October 16. Rajasthan State Education Minister Sanjay Dhotre and Jal Shakti Mantri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will be present in the event, an official statement said.
