Ina bid to achieve the target of hundred per cent E-epic cards to newlyregistered 13,738 voters, the district administration has set up E-epic cardsdownload kiosk at type-1 Seva Kendra situated at district administrativecomplex, Jalandhar.

Divulgingthe details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that as per guidelinesissued by the Election Commissioner of India all newly registered voters wouldbe provided with the E-epic cards. He further added that a special kiosk hasbeen set up at Seva Kendra, where E-epic cards would be downloaded in themobiles of new voters. He said that all new voters would be covered by February28, 2021, adding the other general voters would be able to avail the benefit ofthis facility from March 1, 2021.

Thedeputy commissioner said that another scheme Election Hero has also beenlaunched by the election commission under which campus ambassadors of variouseducational institutions were roped-in. He said that campus ambassadors gettingmaximum E-epic cards downloaded to be declared as Election Hero of the Monthand these Election Heroes would have a chance to interact with Punjab StateIcon Sonu Sood or Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab S. Karuna Raju through videocalling.

Thedeputy commissioner said that under E-epic drive all electors would be able todownload electronic versions of the Elector's Photo Identity Cards (E-EPICs).He said that the digital version of EPICs would be available for download fromthe Voter Helpline app, voterportal.eci.gov.in and nvsp.in

Headded that all general voters who have valid EPIC numbers would be able todownload the E-EPIC from March 1, and those who applied in November andDecember 2020 can currently avail the digital EPICs.
