Main opposition party Congress is inching close to power in state. According to latest trends on 90 seats, Congress is leading on 65 seats, BJP on 18 and Janta Congress-BSP alliance on 7 seats.

      Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh is maintaining a lead in Rajnandgaon seat while Congress legislators team leader TS Singhdeo is leading in Ambikapur seat. Chhattisgarh State Campaign Committee President Dr Charandas Mahant is leading in Sakti seat. Janta Congress Supremo Ajit Jogi is leading in Marwahi seat. Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar is leading in Kurud seat.Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda is trailing in Bijapur seat. Minister Kedar Kashyap is trailing in Narayanpur seat. Urban Administration Minister Amar Agrawal is trailing in Bilaspur seat.

Congress candidate TS Singhdeo is leading in Ambikapur seat by a margin of 6800 votes. Amarjit Bhagat of Congress is leading by a margin of 13900 votes in Sitapur seat. Amitesh Shukla of Congress is leading by 15895 votes. Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi is leading by margin of 5000 votes. Chintamani Maharaj of Congress is leading in Samri seat by a margin of 10633 votes.

     As per the latest trends, Congress is leading in 16 out of 20 seats of Raipur division while BJP is leading in 3 seats. Out of 14 seats of Sarguja, Congress is leading in 9 and BJP in 5. Congress is leading in 17 seats out of 20 in Durg. BJP is leading in 2 seats and Janta Congress candidate is leading in 1 seat of Durg.

                       To sum up,Congress has a massive lead over BJP.
