A private school bus carrying children avoided a major accident in the Ballan village of Kishangarh. An electric pole fell onto the school bus. This incident took place when the bus was dropping off children around 3:00 pm to their way home. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
How the Incident Happened?
As per locals, one side of the road had a damaged drain cover. The damage was caused due to the constant vehicle movement. The school driver swerved to escape the damaged area of the road and accidentally hit an electric pole. Due to the impact of the hit, an electric pole collapsed onto the school bus.
Students inside the bus were scared, but thankfully, the pole did not cause any serious damage to the vehicle. After the accident, locals nearby rushed to help and immediately informed Powercom (electricity department) about the accident and the situation.
Delayed Response and Power Cut
Although the Powercom was informed about the accident immediately, their officials did not respond for hours. Locals kept waiting for workers to fix the issues. Only after four hours did officials respond and visit the area of the accident, then switch off the electricity supply. After that, they removed the fallen pole and wires from the bus and road. Until then, the road remained blocked due to the accident. This caused major inconvenience to everyone in the area.
The entire village suffereda power cut, leaving homes & shops without electricity till later that evening. All these happened due to the delayed actions of officials.
Locals Demand Better Infrastructure
Residents of Kishangarh were angry and frustrated over the condition of the road. They mentioned that it is full of loose stones due to ongoing repair work. Locals said the accident could have been avoided if the roads were in proper maintained condition. They have applied to the government for urgent repairment of infrastructure and better safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
