With a scintillating 25 nominations in total and being recognized as the best drama series, the HBO production ‘Succession’ won big at this year’s Emmy, alongside winning other awards in the primetime segment including two for the best actor for Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong. Back in 2020 when it last vied for the Emmys, Succession had captured the best drama trophy and eight other awards.

The series also cornered fame for itself by winning the award in the supporting cast category, Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfayden, J. Smith-Cameron, and Sarah Snook.

Nominations for the Emmys award night which was held on September 13th, in July. It was the 74th edition of the awards and was hosted by Kenan Thompson. This year’s Primetime Emmy Award nominations were a grab bag of returning series and brand-new shows.

Among other lots of award that succession won includes outstanding writing for a drama series. Jesse Armstrong picked up the Emmy for this category. It also won Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series - 2022 and Best Drama Series.

Overall, HBO led all nominations by platform, with a total of 108 nominations, edging out Netflix, which earned 105.
