An encounter took place between the Special Task Force (STF) of the police and drug smugglers in Zira, Firozpur. In the incident, smugglers named Sandeep and Gora were killed in cross firing. One of the smugglers identified as Anmol was injured in the encounter and is in police custody. Three pistols have also been recovered from the miscreants. According to reports, the drug smugglers were traveling in a Swift car. The Task Force surrounded them on Jeera-Talwandi road. According to reports, a policeman was sasdly also injured in the incident.
Two of the miscreants were killed in the encounter and one policeman was injured. One injured smuggler is in police custody.
