Defending champions England on Saturday locked horns with the mighty South Africans in the Cricket World Cup 2023 match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Winning the toss, English Captain Jos Butler invited South Africa to bat first. While England made two changes and brought back Ben Stoken into the playing Xi, 'out-of-form' South African skipper Temba Bavuma had to miss the game due to sickness. However, what grabbed the global headline when England's speedster Reece Topley lost his calm and threw chairs and smashed window pane at the Wankhede Stadium. 

Reece Topley who dismissed the in-form Proteas batter Quinton De Kock had to leave the field after a ball dangerously struck his index finger. Reece Topley who has undergone multiple injuries was livid and frustrated with the fact that he had to leave the field in the middle of a good spell. As a result, Reece Topley lost his calm and when going back to the Wankhede Stadium pavilion, he angrily thew the chair aside and even went on to hit the window pane with his hand. At once, Topley was also seen throwing chairs inside the pavilion. 

Following this, many fans on social media expressed concern and stated that Reece Topley's actions were quite understandable.
