Ex Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on Vigilance radar; Bureau to inquire about 150 crore scam

Vigilance Bureau has started an inquiry regarding the 150-crore scam.

A 150-crore scam has been exposed in Punjab in the purchase of agricultural machinery. Subsidy of Rs. 1178 crores were provided by the Central government to the state to purchase machinery for agricultural purposes. There is no clue about the 11,275 machines that were purchased in the state.

Punjab Agriculture Minister, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal found some evidence that pointed toward a scam. As soon as he got to know that something suspicious is there, he recommended a Vigilance inquiry for the same.

Along with being the Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh also had the charge of the agriculture minister then. Around 13% of the total funds disappeared nowhere.

Amarinder Singh is totally on the radar of the Vigilance Bureau and might be called for questioning regarding the 150-crore scam.

Other officers and bureaucrats of the department might also be called by the Vigilance Bureau along with him.

The present Agriculture Minister of the State, Kuldeep Dhaliwal said that Capt. Amarinder Singh had the responsibility of allocating the machines in proper order. If even he is found guilty after the inquiry, strict action will be initiated against him no matter what.
