Excise department unearths illegal country made liquor bottling plant at Rajpura

In a major breakthrough, Excise Department Punjab has enearthed a spurious manufacturing unit of Country made liquid at Rajpura today late evening.

Divulging the details, Joint Commissioner ot Excise, Mr Naresh Dubey, said that from the manufacturing unit cum godown, a tanker of Extra Neutral Thanol (20000 liters), 43 cases of illegal Country Made Liquor (with labelling ot Punjab Rasila Santra), labels, corks and sealing machine have been recovered.

AIG (Excise Police) APS Ghumman and SP Pritipal Singh who were accompanying the excise officials in this raid, said that two persons, one Dipesh Grover, a resident of Rajpura and another Karaj Singh resisent of Shamaspur were arrested from here. Besides, a tank having distilled illegal liquor has also been recovered, they added.

Excise Officials and Police further said that they were working on a tip off, following which, this illegal bottling plant unearthened.
They said that state government on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh has initiated operation Red Rose to curb the illegal activities related to illegal liquor to save the punjab residents from the consumption of spurious liquor.

Deputy Excise Commissioner, Patiala Zone, Rajpal Singh Khaira added that a case in this regard has been got registered at PS City Rajpura and further investigation is being conducted.

Assistant Commissioner, Excise Inderjit Singh Nagpal, Excise Officer Patiala Harjot Singh and Inspector Excise Lakhmir Singh were also present there.
