Exclusive: Vigilance Bureau gets ‘prosecution sanction’ in DFO Mohali Guramanpreet’s Case

As per the latest information received from sources, concerned department has given prosecution sanction to Vigilance Bureau in DFO Mohali Guramanpreet Singh’s graft case. This permission comes days after meeting of all departments head was conducted with Chief Secretary VK Janjua who warned them about timely submission of permission to VB so that it can carry out the work smoothly.

Reportedly, DFO Gurmanpreet Singh along with a contractor Lucky was arrested by Vigilance Bureau Mohali on the charges of corruption. Davinder Sandhu was complainant in the case. Sandhu who is Senior Director WWICS group and son of Lt. Col BS Sandhu had conducted a sting operation on Gurmanpreet Singh by giving him Rs. 2 lakh bribe and had recorded a video of the same. Matter came to light when the Forest department registered a false FIR against Lt. Col BS Sandhu regarding the development of Farms in village Masol.

Complainant of the grafing case requested Punjab CM to take action and register cases against Guramanpreet Singh (DFO Mohali) and Vishal Chauhan (Conservator of Forest) and get the matter investigated.

Post, meeting between Chief Secretary VK Janjua all department heads, there is pressure building up on all departments to provide prosecution sanctions to Vigilance Bureau. Information reveals that 116 cases are still pending under the VB seeking for sanctions.
