On Wednesday, Bill Cosby was freed from prison and returned home as Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his sexual assault conviction and said that he should never have faced such charges after sticking non-prosecution deal with a previous attorney more than 15 years ago.
A split decision was issued by the Supreme Court after Bill Cosby has served more than two years of three to ten-year sentence following his 2018 conviction.
A department spokesperson said that Cosby, 83-year-old, was released by the state prison in Shippack, Pennsylvania just before 2:30 pm (1830 GMT).

Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt, who escorted Cosby from prison said, “We want to thank the Pennsylvania Court. This is what we have been fighting for and this is justice for Black America.”
Wyatt further said, “This is the justice Mr Cosby has been fighting for. They saw the light. He was given a deal and he had immunity. He should have never been charged.”
Bill Cosby was once a popular comedian and was known as “American’s Dad.” He is best known for his role as the lovable husband and father in the 1980’s television comedy series “The Cosby Show.”
He was found guilty of drugging and violating Temple University sports administrator Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in the year 2004. He was the first celebrity convicted in the #MeToo era.

Montgomery Court district attorney Kevin Steele, who has filed the case against Bill in 2015, has recently issued a statement in which he has said that the Supreme Court has found Cosby guilty and Wednesday’s decision wasn’t taken on the basis of the case.
He said, “I hope that this decision will not dampen the reporting of sexual assaults by victims. We still believe that no one is above the law – including those who are rich, famous and powerful.”
Lisa Bloom, a lawyer who represented some of Cosby’s accusers said that she was “absolutely disgusted and shocked” by the decision.
