In a major development, a panic was sparked through the administrative ranks after a bomb threat through an email was received at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) office in Ludhiana. The alarming message triggered an immediate response from the district and police administration, which moved into high alert mode.
As per the information received, an unidentified individual sent the threat via email, claiming that a bomb had been planted at the DC office. Authorities are now investigating the IP address from which the email originated, as part of a broader cyber and security probe.
Talking to True Scoop, Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma called the email to blow up the DC Office a hoax. As a precautionary measure, bomb disposal squads and dog squads were deployed at the DC office to conduct thorough checks. The office premises were also scanned, entry to the building was restricted, and the security was heightened as well.
