AAP Supremo & Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday visited Amritsar to inaugurate the 'School of Eminence' in Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal joined Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and dedicated the state to its first-ever 'School of Eminence' that will reportedly play a key role in providing quality education to the children of the state. However, a prominent news portal claimed that the Punjab State Government turned teachers as 'Bus Incharge' that will be ferrying the ruling Aam Aadmi Party workers to Amritsar. The report cited the orders allegedly issued by district education officers (DEOs). Notably, the report raised many eyebrows as Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had earlier emphasized that government teachers will only teach and not be assigned any other duty. The report also alleged that directions from the DEOs stated that no teacher would get leave from work even to prepare their children for exams and should rather focus on the studies of their students. Notably, there are examinations going on in the government schools of Punjab.

After the report started doing rounds on social media, the Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party flagged it as a fake report. Sharing the snip of the report, AAP Punjab took to its official X handle, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, "No such orders have been issued...No teacher has been appointed as a bus in charge..Rather, teachers have been invited to attend the GRAND INAUGURATION CEREMONY of our 1st #SchoolOfEminence". Apart from hitting out at the report, AAP Punjab also shared a video of a news portal claiming that it visited the venue where the so-called teachers were about to go as Bus Incharge but none of them were found. Hence, the report suggesting that the Punjab Government appointed teachers as 'Bus Incharge' to take care of AAP workers during their journey to Amristar was totally fake.

Keeping the controversy aside, Punjab's first-ever 'School of Eminence' has smart classrooms, modern infrastructure and labs, and playgrounds having facilities for various sports. The AAP government plans to have 116 such schools across Punjab and develop them as centers of excellence for the students of Classes 9 to 12. It is pertinent to mention here that Delhi CM Kejriwal is currently on a three-day visit to Punjab. In Kejriwal's itinerary, the Delhi CM and Punjab CM Mann will also hold meetings with entrepreneurs in Amritsar and Jalandhar on Thursday during which issues being faced by them, including policy-related matters, will be discussed.
