A post on X (former Twitter) went viral on Wednesday that linked former Team India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan after Operation Sindoor. It was alleged that Shikhar Dhawan took a brutal swipe at Pakistan and former cricketer Shahid Afridi after Operation Sindoor. Under the codename Operation Sindoor, India carried out air strikes in Pakistan and PoK, destroying 9 terror launch pads. As soon as India turned Pakistani terror launch pads into ashes, ISI started peddling fake news and misinformation on X, claiming that it shot down India's Rafale jets which were debunked by PIB. What caught everyone's attention was a viral tweet linked to Shikhar Dhawan's reaction on Operation Sindoor in which he allegedly took a dig at Shahid Afridi, who was spilling venom against the Indian Army for the past few days.
In the viral tweet on X, Shikhar was seen in a swimming pool holding a cup of tea. The caption reads, "Aur kaisi lagi chai padosiyon (How was the tea neighbours?) Notably, the tweet got 1.2 million views.
The truth behind Shikhar Dhawan's viral tweet on Pakistan
The post that is going viral on X does not belong to former Team India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan. The social media account from which the tweet has been made is named 'Shikkar Dhawen'. Hence, it can be said that Shikhar Dhawan did not take a swipe at Shahid Afridi or Pakistan.
However, Shikhar has indeed reacted to Operation Sindoor from his official X handle, 'Shikhar Dhawan'. Shikhar, in his official tweet, wrote, "India takes a stand against terrorism."
For the unversed, Shikhar Dhawan and Shahid Afridi came at loggerheads on social media after the former Pakistani cricketer spilled venom against Indian Army and the Modi Government. Reacting to it, Shikhar had fact-checked Shahid Afridi on the number of wars Pakistan lost to India. In response, Afridi responded with the 'tea is fantastic' meme. Hence, the tweet from a fake account of Shikhar Dhawan went viral.
