While the India-Canada diplomatic standoff continues, Pakistan is attempting to milk the opportunity by peddling fake narratives and harassing famous Punjabi singers and celebrities in the name of Khalistan. While it is no hidden fact that Pakistan and its secret service agency ISI have historically fuelled the Khalistan movement, it is now looking to dent the credibility of Punjabi artists. Now, Pakistan has jumped into the Shubh India Tour controversy. A video has surfaced on social media alleging that Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubh sang and dedicated a song in support of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh.

The video was shared by a Pakistani journalist on social media saying, "Amidst escalating tensions between #India and #Canada, famous Canada-based Punjabi singer and rapper Shubhneet Singh, (known as 'Shubh) Released New Song. #Shubh shared a distorted map of India on Instagram in March, amid the police crackdown against Sikh separatist leader Amritpal Singh and his associates. The diplomatic war now seems to be turning into a war of music."

The video showcased Amritpal Singh in a glorified manner and how his demand for Khalistan in India was crushed by the authorities in India. However, on digging, True Scoop News found out that Shubh's Amritpal Singh video was totally fake. The first thing that should be noted is the voice of the singer. The voice of the singer is not of Shubh's, also the Punjabi singer has never sung such type of song. It clearly showcases that Pakistan is playing an active role in fueling differences between India and Canada in the name of Khalistan.

A Fact-checking page also stated, " Pakistani accounts are circulating an offensive and provocative video song full of hatred propaganda against India, claiming that it has been released by khalistani sympathizer & singer #Shubh after his show got canceled amid his anti-India post...The fact is that no such video has been released by the singer. It has been created by editing using multiple visuals and different voices of singers. We visited his YouTube channel, but no such song had been uploaded. The last video uploaded was one month old."

Shubh's clarification on sharing India's distorted map

Shubh on Thursday issued a detailed statement and also explained why he shared the India's distorted map. "My intent in resharing that post on my story was only to Pray for Punjab as there were reports of electricity and internet shutdowns throughout the state. There was no other thought behind it and I definitely didn't intend to hurt anyone's sentiments. The accusations against me have deeply affected me. But as my guru has taught me "ਮਾਨਸ ਕੀ ਜਾਤ ਸਬੈ ਏਕੈ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਬੋ" "Manas Ki Jaat Sabai Ekai Pachanbo" (All the human beings recognized as one and same) and taught me not to be afraid, not to be intimidated which is the origin of Punjabiyat. I will. continue to work hard. My team and I will be back soon, bigger and stronger together," wrote Shubh.
